Our approach to innovation

A great digital product must be efficient and intuitive and enhance existing processes, especially in healthcare. Users should be able to achieve their goals with minimal effort, easily understand the interface, and gain unique value that other solutions don’t provide.

Our approach to innovation:

  • Understand mental models – Research users’ mental models, expectations and context through in-depth user research.

  • Remove friction – Identify pain points in their current journey by mapping user journeys for each group to eliminate obstacles.

  • Find opportunities to delight – Uncovering business opportunities for improving user experience and identifying innovative solutions throughout the journey.

Medical imaging software for clinicians

Medical imaging software for clinicians

Context & user needs
Adaptix, a leader in medical imaging technology, provides cutting-edge imaging solutions for clinicians and veterinarians. Their software is essential for diagnosing conditions and guiding treatment, often in high-pressure environments. Clinicians move between multiple machines, patients/animals, and computers, sometimes in separate rooms. Efficiency and ease of use are critical to maintaining focus on patient care.

Challenges

  • Environmental factors – Dark rooms affect contrast, colour perception, and data visibility.

  • Workflow efficiency – Balancing interaction time with the device vs. patient/animal.

  • Complex imaging needs – Heart disease screening requires scanning through multiple tissue layers; imaging must be completed within limited sedation time in veterinary settings.

Our solution
The design uniquely balances clinical efficiency, environmental adaptability, and intuitive usability, ensuring seamless workflows in real-world medical settings.

A redesigned UI improved clarity and consistency, dark mode enhanced contrast for dark-room use, usability testing refined workflows based on clinician feedback, and a UI design system ensured scalability and visual consistency.

Key Benefits for Adaptix

  • Commercial-ready UI – Professional design boosts confidence for demos.

  • Designed for both human & animal imaging – Tested with vets in their practices.

  • Scalable & efficient – A UI design system accelerates future product development.

  • User-driven refinements – Clinicians and vets gave highly positive feedback, validating the improved experience.

  • Beyond software–hardware insights. Testing revealed ways to enhance both the software and the physical device.
