Digital-first B2B brand identity for a start-up’s market launch

TalentUnlocked

Impact

  • We designed a strong, distinctive brand that gives TalentUnlocked credibility and builds trust with their target customers, prospects and investors.

  • As part of our work on TalentUnlocked’s product strategy and UX, we designed the identity to create a joined-up experience from product to market.

  • The brand equipped the team with clear guidelines and flexible assets to present the business consistently and professionally across every touchpoint.

  • The brand helped turn TalentUnlocked’s promising product into a credible presence that people can understand, trust and choose.

"Fruto turned our brand principles into an identity that feels calm, credible and built to last. Because they designed the product too, the brand and the platform feel like one thing."

About TalentUnlocked

TalentUnlocked is an innovative digital recruitment marketplace designed to raise industry standards while significantly reducing hiring costs and time to hire. The platform creates a specialised, high-quality network where employers gain transparent access to a broader pool of recruiter talent without sacrificing service quality.

What they needed

As TalentUnlocked prepared to launch its recruitment platform, the business needed a brand identity aligned with its commercial strategy and ambitions.

The brand needed to feel professional, credible and calm for a B2B audience while avoiding the playful or predictable visual language often associated with recruitment. It also had to work across the product, marketing, and sales materials, as well as future print applications.

With the commercial launch approaching, Fruto was brought in to design the visual identity, brand guidelines, and marketing and sales assets on a tight timeframe.

The branding was part of a wider product strategy and UX engagement, so our team worked across their product, user experience, and brand.

What we did for them

We worked closely with the TalentUnlocked leadership team to turn their existing brand vision into a visual identity that could support the business as it moved towards launch and growth.

Turning the brand vision into a visual identity

The starting point was a clear set of principles: transparency, fairness, trust, quality, credibility and expertise. The brand needed to feel steady and clear without becoming cold or too formal, and forward-thinking without becoming too trendy. We used these principles to guide the visual direction and assess concepts throughout the process.

Brand identity

The name TalentUnlocked naturally suggested ideas around access, unlocking, and connecting talent with organisations. We explored these alongside concepts of people, opportunity, and the relationship between the letters T and U.

The final identity uses a simple geometric symbol with an abstract connection to unlocking talent. The symbol can also work independently from the wordmark, giving TalentUnlocked a recognisable asset that can be used across smaller digital applications.

Brand identity guidelines

We designed the brand identity guidelines to ensure consistent, effective use across every brand touchpoint. These guidelines give the team clear, practical direction on how to use the brand, making it easier to create consistent and recognisable communications.

The brand identity guidelines include a flexible logo system designed to work consistently across a range of applications, from digital platforms, presentations and social media to print materials.

Creating marketing and sales assets

To support the commercial launch, we designed a digital sales brochure that clearly communicates the proposition to different B2B audiences, including employers and recruitment agencies. Working with the founders and marketing and sales team, we explored the structure and content, using wireframes to establish a clear hierarchy before developing the final design.

We delivered the brochure as an editable file, giving the team the flexibility to refine the content as sales conversations evolve, they learn what resonates and the business grows.

Since then, the team have used the brand across their marketing and sales efforts, including at professional network events and business fairs.

Results

A strong brand identity helped TalentUnlocked move from concept to commercial launch, building credibility and early trust with their target customers (corporate employers and recruitment agencies) and investors.

The flexible identity enables the team to present TalentUnlocked consistently across product, marketing and sales as the business grows.

By developing the brand identity as part of the wider product strategy and UX process, we created a cohesive experience that connects TalentUnlocked’s proposition, product and market presence.

"We knew what we wanted TalentUnlocked to stand for before we knew what it should look like. We'd defined the brand as calm, structured and quietly disruptive, but recruitment is a market full of loud, playful branding, and turning those principles into something visual is a different skill entirely.

Fruto understood that straight away. They took our brand foundations and built an identity that feels credible and composed without being cold. It reads more like infrastructure than a start-up, which is how we want employers and recruiters to see us.

Because they were designing the product at the same time, the brand and the platform feel like one thing. What people see on our stand, in sales conversations and when they log in is consistent, and the guidelines mean our team can keep it that way as we grow.

We've now taken the brand to market, from sales conversations to industry events, and it gives us a presence that matches the ambition of the business."
